Depression has always been an issue in college-age students but since the pandemic, these numbers have skyrocketed.
39% of college students suffer from depression. That is almost half. It seems to be a pattern that most mental health concerns show up in early adolescence which is around 18-24 years old. It makes a lot of families worried to send their teenagers away to college. Colleges share resources they have for students who are struggling but do not do enough to advocate that it's normal to use those services.
